About Thistle Holiday HomesFreedom, comfort, choiceThistle Holiday Home Parks are inspected each year by a VisitScotland Quality Advisor. An in-depth check of the park is carried out, so that you can be sure that four stars really do mean ‘excellent’ and five stars mean ‘exceptional’. All Thistle holiday homes have to be of a certain standard.
Thistle Holiday Homes have a spacious lounge and a kitchen, with dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, a fridge and perhaps a microwave. There are either two or three bedrooms (with twin or double beds) and bed linen is provided. There is a shower and/or a bath and a toilet. You will find everything you need for a cosy home-from-home! The caravans are owned by the park, so you can be sure they are kept in very good condition. Static caravan holiday homes in the Thistle category all have to be: - less than six years old- maintained and cleaned to a high standard - double-glazed - heated throughout - connected to mains electricity, water and drainage. All the parks are different but they may have a shop, restaurant, licensed bar, children’s play area, games room, and leisure facilities such as a swimming pool or even a spa! Some of the bigger parks organise entertainment for children and adults, either during the main holiday months or throughout the season. Parks are open from at least March to October and some are open all year round. Short breaks are often available midweek or at weekends; just ask the park of your choice or check out ‘Special Offers’ and then book your holiday. Contact details are on each entry. Some parks welcome pets, but please check in advance. Some parks have told us that they have holiday homes which are accessible to wheelchairs, but this has not been independently checked by VisitScotland and it is important that you ask for full details before you book.
