Where To Go and What to See and Do

What is there to see?  The answer is - plenty!  Historic Scotland has castles and abbeys, standing stones and chambered cairns;  if you are interested in history, every day will be full of interest!. Forestry Commission Scotland's forests have paths for walking and cycling and bird-watching or just enjoying the peacefulness;  Edinburgh Woollen Mill Visitor Centres are where to go for snacks and meals - and some retail therapy, because they have a wide range of tweeds and woollens in their shops.  

Historic ScotlandEdinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Urquhart Castle – three magnificent castles in the care of Historic Scotland. Oher places to visit are Threave Castle in the South West,, Fort George near Nairn, Huntingtower near Perth, and Dunstaffnage Castle near Oban.  Each one adds another piece to the jigsaw which is Scotland's history.

Make sure you visit one of the  Forestry Commission Scotland forests, where you can walk, cycle and bird-watch along the forest trails.
