Laxdale is a family-run park, surrounded by trees. The facilities are modern, as are our caravan holiday homes. We are only 1.5 miles from Stornoway (ferry from Ullapool) and an idea base from which to tour Lewis.

Our wooden wigwam camping pods have electric light, panel heater,and picnic bench outside. You can choose from our smaller ‘Wee Brave’ Wigwam (3 adults and 1 child) or larger ‘Big Chief’ Wigwam (4 adults and 1 child_. Each have a raised sleepiing platform and mattresses, converts to cushioned seating , plus free-standing table. The small kitchen area has a fridge (with ice box),microwave and kettle. Our wigwams are 40m from the toilet/shower block.Parking is close to the wigwams. Dogs are allowed in the wigwams but not unattended and must be kept on a leash.
Bunkhouse: We have a bunkhouse for back-packers, families and groups. Four bedrooms, with 4 bunks in each, sleeping a total of 16. The rooms are well heated and there is a locker for each bunk. Dividing curtains provide privacy between pairs of bunks. Two toilets and showers (suitable for the disabled), plus a pressurised hot-water system for strong, hot showers (free). Fully equipped kitchen, electric cookers and hobs, fridges, a microwave and a dining area for 8 persons. Comfrotable lounge, furnished to a very high standard, with television. Drying room. Private parking, a covered verandah, picnic table and barbecue area.
A modern amenities block provides laundry facilities, toilets, showers(free), washhand basins and facilities for the disabled. There are also water standpipes, a chemical toilet disposal point and dish washing sinks.
